Good Afternoon all,
Again we are calling for input for the following submission.
The Senate Education and Employment References Committee is inquiring into school refusal. The inquiry will examine the national trend that is affecting primary
and secondary school aged children who are unable to attend school regularly or on a consistent basis. School refusal refers to difficulty attending school associated with emotional distress and can mean that children have trouble going to school or trouble leaving home.
ACSSO is aware that school refusal has been an issue in the past, but it has been exacerbated by the COVID pandemic and associated lockdowns.
We know that COVID pressures tested every element (of schooling) and many more cases of school refusal are emerging.
We would like to here from you concerning your experiences or comments.
Your input would be appreciated by
6 December to enable incorporation into our submission
